Nicaragua 2008

This has been an awesome Lord's Day! We started the day with the baptism of the 88 year old man that I had mentioned last week. That was so sweet! A new babe in Christ! We had a great church service and then after church we had a short meeting of those interested in going on the mission trip to Nicaragua in September.

We were overwhelmed at the 30 people who came and signed up that they are either sure they are going or very interested in going! And we are a small church.....no megachurch here!

I have never been so surprised and excited because I know the joy that is set before them if they go. It is not only to minister to the needs of the people there medically and spiritually but I can't begin to tell you what it does for your own heart and then when you get back, what it does for the church.

I am praying that God will send just the right people who have their hearts prepared by Him for this trip! This has been a good day, a good day indeed!

This is so neat. One of my regrets in life is not going on a women's mission trip to Poland when I was working at our church. A good friend was the "team leader" and tried to get me to go, and I'm not sure why I didn't. I hope to go on a trip sometime, but with the kids being small, it seems a lot more difficult now.

I hope one day (when my kids are bigger) that I can go on a mission trip. That is one thing I have always wanted to do! How inspiring to have such a big number interested in going!

Be prepared, Mom is going to Nicaragua with you this year. For some reason she just couldn't talk Janice into it, though.?
