Skipper, our Cocker Spaniel, loves to ride in the truck. However, most of the time, he only rides in the truck if he has to go to the vet (and that usually means a shot) or if he is going to the kennel when we go out-of-town.
I always think he passes the time in the kennel by scrawling on the walls the number of days left in his "sentence"!
Today, when Hubs got home from his office, he thought we should take Skipper for a ride in the truck so he wouldn't always think going for a ride was leading to a shot or the kennel. We decided to go down the road from our house to the river.
The river is still up high from all the rain we have had this spring and summer. A soft fog was already forming on the river by the time we left. You could feel the cool air coming up from the river. It has been so cool in the mornings and evenings that it still doesn't feel too much like August!
So now I think Skipper is fully aware of going for a ride in the truck is sometimes just for the fun of it!!

Love your photos, Judy! They really make me miss Arkansas. Your dog is such a sweetie! Both of our dogs react in about the same way when we take them with us in the car. You can, literally, see the wheels turning in their heads as they ponder, "Uh oh, this isn't going to be pretty."
Really pretty pictures--the river is beautiful in that area. This post made me miss Oliver! Did the other dogs not get to go!?

Skipper is so cute and I am so happy for him that he got to just go for a "fun ride" with no shots or kennels involved. He's going to be begging to go every time the truck cranks after this great trip!

The pic by the river with the fog is the coolest...should go on a postcard. Our little Jaxon loves to go for car rides!!
I LOVE these pictures!!! Your cocker spaniel is just precious! We had to put our 12 year old cocker to sleep this summer for liver failure. Our backyard is just not the same without him out there! Hope ya'll have a great weekend! :)

Your pictures are beautiful. Our girls LOVE to "go" for rides too! All you have to do is say the word!
