Staff Christmas Party

We serve at a small church with a small staff: pastor, associate pastor/youth minister, church secretary and a church custodian. We usually all exchange gifts but this year we decided to draw names and have a little luncheon at our home today.

I made favors for our little soiree using Kelly's Christmas ball idea. I put everyone's name on them and found little bags at WM with the Christmas tree tag that I thought would go with the theme of the Christmas tree ornament! Then I used the bags as a centerpiece for the table around a large candle.

I bought these little star and Christmas tree name -place holders last year on 60% off at Kohl's. I wish I had bought more now, of course, because I only have four. So I decided to use some of the "fruits of the Spirit" labels for decoration purposes!

This is Jack, our associate pastor/youth minister and his wife, Sandy. They are grandparents to a beautiful little girl! They look too young to be grandparents, don't they??

I set up a table between my living room and my kitchen so we could sit close to the fireplace because it was very cold today!

We had bunko buns, honey-mustard chicken legs, sausage balls, spicy meatballs, fruit pizza, cheese ball with chips and crackers, pumkin bread and strawberry cake! And lots of left-overs!

This is our church secretary, Jacquie and her husband, David. Jacquie is the BEST and only secretary we have had in our church since we have been there for over twenty years. Her husband David and I have lead the music team at the local nursing home for about 14 years now.
He leads the singing and I play the piano. We aren't that good(at least I'm not) but we are faithful to go!!! I keep telling David he's going to have to find a younger woman with better eyesight to play the piano in a few years!!

This is the gift I got....a church birdhouse! Isn't it the cutest?? I have to decide where to put it.
Should I put it outside this spring or should I keep it in the house as a decoration?
Whata ya think??

What a great get-together! I love your ornaments/centerpieces--very cute! The menu sounds delicious. I'm sure everyone had a wonderful time in your home! The birdhouse is really pretty--it might be a great piece to use on the front porch as part of a spring arrangement with flowers, etc...? That way it would be outside/visible, yet out of the weather?? A little wren might even make a home there even if it's right on the porch--I think wrens are so cute because they find the coziest little places to nest! :)

Everything was BEAUTIFUL (of course) and the food was SOOOOO GOOD! Can't say enough about the bunko buns!!

Thank you, Judy, for your precious heart, your generous spirit, and especially your guidance and friendship for so many years.

That looks like such a fun luncheon! I know where Kelly gets her creative ideas for parties from! You were quite the hostess!

I vote for the birdhouse to stay inside. I think it is so pretty and would look so nice on a bookshelf! But if you decide for outside, I'm sure the birds will love it as well!

What a fun lunch! I can see where Kelly gets her hostessing skills! (:

I know the birds would enjoy this beautiful house, but it looks too pretty to go outside. (:

Love all the crafty stuff you made. And all that yummy food. Too bad I'm far away, ha!!! I'd say leave the birdhouse inside, it would make for some good decoration on a bookshelf or table. Mrry Christmas too you & those you love, Karen Barnes

OH MY GOODNESS!!! I do love your birdhouse....I think I would have to leave it in the house to protect it from the elements! Everyone looked like they had soooo much fun at the party and the food looks wonderful!

Just stopping by to thank you for your sweet comments about Mike. I tell you, when it rains, it pours! We're just doing our best to remain positive, knowing that God is watching closely over him and He is in full control. I really am at peace about it. I just feel that everything is going to be fine. Please keep those prayers coming!

I can't wait to hear all about that new granddaughter due to arrive soon! You must be getting so excited! Hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas! Love to you all!

What a yummy menu. Looks like a treasured memory with great friends.

LOVE the birdhouse. I vote for inside, at least until spring, because I think it will make a darling Easter decoration. :)
