My Funny Valentine

Kelly over at Kelly's Korner is asking about your very favorite Valentine's Day.  I had to think back many years ago to 1972.....probably before many of you were born!

I was 24 years old at the time and was teaching school while my husband was attending graduate school at the University of Arkansas.   This picture was made when I got home from school and found on my kitchen table a pink frosted cake with the inscription, " Steve loves Judy" that he had made me that day!

I thought that was better than any bakery cake any day of the week!

By the way, a month later I was pregnant with Kelly!
This year for Valentine's Day, Hubs and I made a little trip over to see Kelly, Scott and Harper.

I bought Kelly an apron from Paula Deen's store when we were in Savannah!  It just fit!!
We had gone over to keep our sweet Harper for the evening so Kelly and Scott could have a
date for Valentine's Day.  We decided to surprise them with the key to a nice hotel so they could have a whole evening to themselves!    Certainly having Harper for a whole evening to ourselves was in our minds also!!

Disclaimer:  The next few pictures are just a shameless array of sweet pictures of our funny little Valentine!

I love these two so much!

Happy Valentine's Day to you!

John 15:12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

That was a cute picture of you from when you were 24! I see where Kelly gets her beauty! And that was so sweet of your young hubby to bake you that cake!!!

So glad you got to keep Harper and have her all to yourselves! And that was so nice to give kelly and Scott so alone time together for Valentine's Day.

We got to see our 3 girls and all of our 11 grandkids today as we took them all a Valentine. I loved getting to see all of them.

I am so thankful for them. And I know you feel the same way about your kids.

Have a blessed Valentine Sunday as you worship the Lord together.

I've been reading Kelly's blog for sometime but found yours through it. I'm closer to your age but started reading her through our love of the Razorbacks! I live in Iowa now but I graduated from U of A in 1980 and taught in the Springdale school system after graduation. Isn't it a small world!
My baby girl is following in my footsteps and heading to U of A this fall!
Aren't those simple acts of kindness the best? Thanks for sharing!
