I don't know about where you come from but around these parts when teenagers come "of age" they usually get a car.
Back in my day (better known as the "dark ages") this was unheard of!! Rare was the teenager with a car in high school. Some of the boys had old trucks that were restored or else you drove your parent's family car if you were lucky!
I remember my freshman year in college and one (yes, ONE) girl on my dorm floor had a '66 Mustang!!
Well, how popular do you think she was? We would put $2.00 worth of gas in that Mustang and ride Sally ride all around town.....for hours!!
Well, when our daughter Kelly went off to college, we bought her a car! She was so proud and only wrecked it three or four times! But we got through that time with no injuries, just many repair bills and a change of insurance!
So, Harper, Pappa and I wanted to go along with tradition and go ahead and get you that FIRST CAR!......................
We can't wait till you get here and drive it!!!!!!!!!

That is so sweet! You are so thoughtful and had pictures of your children in the same spots with their cars. You'll have to take Harper next to her car too!

Harper is one lucky little girl to have such wonderful Grandparents... I love the little car and I am sure Harper will love it also... maybe she will be able to take Dawson for a ride or two in her new car.
Aww.. Harper will love that!! :)
Be sure to take pictures of her first "driving" experience!
Harper is such a blessed little girl. You are wonderful grandparents.
It is funny to see kelly with darker hair! Her first car was cute, and so was her dress! But you can tell it was taken a while ago! (:>) She's such a doll.
And her brother is a hunk in his black car.
Thanks for sharing these pictures Judy.

She will love it Judy! When the twins were her age they each got a Cozy Coupe. It was like a game of bumper cars in my living room on the days we couldn't get outside!
My mom gave my son his first car at Christmas. He love his cozy coupe, too!
I have got to add you to my blog list. I forget to check yours regularly but I always love reading it. I don't know any of you personally, but all of you seem so sweet! I got some sweet comments from your hubby and Kelly when I posted about having a surprise pregnancy last spring.
I am sure you and Harper will get many hours of enjoyment with that car. Love the picture of Kelly when she was younger, that dress is a hoot!
How exciting - her first car at one!
As my parents say, what is the point of being a grandparent if you can't spoil them!
She is going to LOVE her car! Can't wait to see pics of her driving this weekend!
I hope Harper drives better than her mom!
She is going to love that car!
P.S. I wish I still had that dress.
And the car. I loved that beretta GT!
How funny! Will be looking for pictures!
I come from the dark ages also, I didn't have my own car until I had been married almost 2 years!
She will love this! My parents got Mary-Kate her first car too! She is 4 and still drives it for fun!
That's precious! What a cute post.
I love this post! I found one of those cars second-hand for my son. He LOVES it. In and out, drive, in and out, drive. I just keep wondering, though, how do boys know how to make all those car sounds when no one taught him?
Great post!! Too funny! You have to check out my blog entry Drive your Chevy to the Levy....you will relate :) Your daughter and I had the same car.LOL.
Happy Wednesday!
Susan
