Boo-Hoo Back-To-School Edition 2010

Today is the first day of school in our little town.  That means many children are starting school for the first time!

I remember crying when my mine went....even when I took them to college !!

Our church hosted our second annual "Boo-Hoo Back-To-School" for young students going back to school and their parents.  We just have some breakfast treats and have their pictures made, some with or without parents!  This year I had a basket of markers or crayons for their backpacks as favors.

Some of the parents take their kids to school and come back by for coffee, muffins and commiserate (or celebrate) their babies being back in school!

It's a lot of fun for all of us!   Here are a few of the cuties we saw early this morning.........I love the sibling pictures!!

I hope they all had a great first day of school!

What a cute idea!! I think this is such a neat thing for your church to do. Loved seeing all the precious children. Harper will be going to kindergarten before you know it. Love & blessings from NC!

What a fun idea. I wish someone would bring some of those muffins to the teachers' lounge. Austin started 9th grade this year, and Logan started 1st. He was way too big for me to walk to his room, but with all the traffic on campus, I did it anyway. There were absolutely no goodbye kisses, though.

That is a wonderful idea your church had. Kind of a kiss and cry. I cried when mine went to school, too. Rite of passage. You got some really cute pictures of their eager faces.
Keeping you in my heart in Ga.

Wow...your schools really get a jump on the new school year. Schools in Maryland don't start until next week...some start the day after Labor Day! That is such a novel idea, "Boo-Hoo Back-To-School." I would have enjoyed attending that when my kids were young :)

That is a great idea. However, in Okla CIty Public Schools (and other surrounding districts) - it is illegal to bring markers to school. Seems that provided too much graffitti on school property. How times have changed. God bless you in your efforts!

What a great idea. I cried when I took mine to school also. My life has been so hectic the last couple weeks, I have not been on the computer, but see that congratulations are in order on the new grandbaby.

What a cute idea! There is a church near me that fixes a basket of goodies (cake, brownies, cookies, etc.) and brings it to school for the teachers on the Friday before classes start. Another church always puts a thank you card and calendar in our mailboxes on the first day of school.
