Highs and Lows

The HIGH:

Yes, we are expecting again!!!!  Well, let me rephrase that....Our daughter and son-in-law are expecting grandbaby number TWO in March 2011!!!

Kelly slipped Harper into this cute "BIG SISTER" dress and had her casually stroll out to us!
You could have heard the hollering a block away!!
We are thrilled!

We ask you to pray for Kelly and the new baby that all will be well.  We know God gave us a true miracle when Harper was born.  We trust Him for a healthy baby and Mother!!

The Low:

Our beloved Buddy had to be put to sleep today after much agonizing and tears on our part.  He hasn't been well in months and on about seven medications, none that were making him any better.
He was almost totally blind, couldn't hear and certainly had a difficult time breathing.
We just couldn't let him have this kind of life.

He and his brother Kramer, who passed last year, gave us so much joy.  Westies are the perfect family dogs!  We loved them both very much!

We are now down to two dogs!   We love them too!

I am so excited for you Judy about the new baby! I just found out in June that I am going to be a grandma too!! Ashley and John are due in February. We are so excited for them, but it is hard for me to get used to the idea of being a grandma. I feel like I should be sitting in a rocking chair and putting my teeth in a glass! haha

But I am so sorry to hear about your sweet dog. That is sooo sad. Dogs are almost like our children. I cried for days when we had to put our dog to sleep. Praying God will heal your heart.

I dont know if I have ever posted on your blog before, but I couldnt wait for you to post about grandbaby #2, so that I could tell "Congrats"!! I tell you that I am SO beyond happy for ALL of you!! Our thoughts and prayers are with Kelly & the new baby. And I believe Harper is going to be the BEST big sister EVER!!

On another note, I am SO SO sorry about your dog. Animals become party of the family and it is so hard when you loose one.

On the sad note though, I'm terribly sorry y'all are having to face this again with your dog. I remember how sad I was when Oliver passed. I'm thinking about y'all.

I am so sorry for the lost of your furbaby, it is such a painful decision to make - you know its best for them but the worst for you. When we had to make that decision all I could think is why does doing the right thing have to be so painful.
I'm am soooo happy for you...a second grandbaby to spoil.... how lucky!!

Congratulations on becoming a grandma for a second time. I know my mom thinks it's the best job in the world :) You have such a sweet, beautiful family and I look forward to following this wonderful journey.

I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. We lost our beloved Shih tzu, Chandler, to kidney failure and it's like losing a family member.

I'm so sad that you had to part with a special friend today. Even though we clearly understand what is "best" for them, it does nothing at all to ease the hurt and disappointment in our hearts. I bid a very difficult farewell to my 16 year old Golden Retriever on April 1st. It's a day I will certainly never, ever forget! It is a hard price to pay for all the joy and companionship they bring into our lives. To be so completely dependent on us, we have no choice but to offer them the mercy they so well deserve when their quality of life becomes compromised. But those goodbyes sting like the dickens!!

I don't think fashionista Harper has ever worn a dress so well. :) What a joy to be able to rejoice with your family, and and honor to pray for healthy months ahead.

Another baby, now let me think, seems I have heard that grandchildren make the grandparents feel younger so shed those extra years and be ready for 2 little ones that need love, and be ready to nicely spoil him or her, two so much fun, , I am so proud of Kelly and Steve and their Christian lives even tho I have never met them but just on Kelly's blog, Now I can't hardly want until she reveals the gender.
Harper will have her own little doll to play with Can't you just picture Kelly the first time Harper come out dragging the baby LOL , congratulation!

I am so sorry about Buddy, I too lost my precious Hannah several years ago but still miss her and it does hurt , I feel for you and Mr Steve, after some time passes I did get another puppy and now she is my baby but I still have many wonderful memories of Hannah

Congratulations (and condolences). You are truly blessed by the Lord! Even though I only know you from the blog world, I can't think of anyone more deserving! Can't wait to find out if Harper will have a little brother or a little sister! Praying for you all....

I'm so happy for a second grandbaby to be joining your family next year. I know Harper will make a great big sister!!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your four-legged baby. Animals become our children, and it's hard to see them suffer. Just know that they're together in Dog Heaven together, running and playing with each other.

God bless!

so sorry to hear about your dog's passing. I know how agonizing that decision can be as I have been through it a few times myself. They are truly members of our family and it's heartbreaking when we have to part with them. But, we will see them again at the Rainbow Bridge, don't forget that!

Congrats on the bsby news! I thought Kelly looked "different" lately and couldn't put my finger on it! Ha! Now I know! So thrilled for you and the whole family! Praying for a healthy pregnancy.

Congratulations on another grandchild! What a true blessing.

And my heart goes out to your family. Our furry animals are such a wonderul part of our family!

Last year a dear, dear friend passed away. When we told our children, our oldest (who was 6) got a great big smile and said, "I bet she is having a great big welcome party from God!" I have no idea where she got this, but I always think of a wonderful WELCOME PARTY to those who pass. I bet your sweet dog had a crazy party! :)

Oh, Ms. Judy. I am so sorry about Buddy. Putting down a pet is one of the hardest things I have had to do.I know you are heart broken. I'm writing through tears now, thinking about my beloved cat. They really are family.

But the other half of my heart is overjoyerd with the news of a new grandbaby. Aren't they wonderful! And how cute was Miss Harper in her "announcement dress". If this is a boy, where will Kelly put the bows?lol

So so so excited for Kelly and Scott...and you amazing grandparents as well!!

I can total relate to the "low". My husband is a K9 officer for the police dept we both work at, and on Saturday night we had to have Aros (the K9) put down because cancer had overtaken his body. It was one of the hardest days for my husband for sure, and for our whole family. They're like members of the family, and it's heartbreaking when you lose one. Prayers for you guys!!
