Happy Blogiversary!!

Four years ago today I wrote my my first post for my new blog.  I didn't know what I was doing then and I have to say, nothing has changed!  Kelly helped me get started while I was at her house and then I came home and did my second post all by myself!  Boy, I was so afraid to push that "publish post" button!!

Four years ago today Hubs was getting ready to leave on a trip to India to teach native pastors and here he is, years later, getting ready to go to India again for his fifth trip.

I started writing a blog because I thought it would be a good way to communicate with him and our kids.
I have come to realize as I look back over the past four years, that blogging is like "scrapbooking" your life.  I have gone back and read some of my old post and would have absolutely forgotten some of the events had I not blogged about it.

The most rewarding thing about blogging is meeting and getting to know many of you who come and read my blog and comment.  I have got the greatest pleasure in meeting some of you "in real life" and a few have become wonderful friends!   Isn't the world of blogging a crazy thing?  I'm just happy I am old enough to understand the "real" from the "unreal" and young enough to even be able to put a blog together!  I'm not exactly a techie!!  Just ask Hubs!  He's my tech support!

Of course, now I think: What did I blog about before my two precious granddaughters came along?

Which brings me to my blog today.  My sister, Linda, who is a middle school teacher, is starting back to school this next week and she had not got a chance all summer to meet her new niece, Hollis.

So we decided we would take a girl's trip over to see the kids.  We spent the night and did a little shopping and drove over to the University of Arkansas campus to look around.  Linda hadn't seen it in a while.  We drove around, talked of the years we spent there in the 60's, how naive we were and how much the campus has changed!  We were going to walk around the campus but the 111 degree weather made us change our minds.   We did go down on the downtown square and tried to remember where the old stores we use to haunt were.  Remember Campbell-Bell's??

We had a fun two days!   I just happen to have a few pictures of our fun with Harper and Hollis!!

I had to add these pictures of Harper watching a praise video, singing and doing the motions to the songs. It was so sweet it brought tears to my eyes!

My prayer is that Harper will always want to praise God for all He has done!

Thanks, Kelly and Scott, for letting us come to visit and get some baby sugar!

To celebrate my bloggy anniversary, would you who come by and read please leave me a comment and let me know where you are from?  I am so surprised when I look at my site meter and see people from all over the world who stop by and read my little blog!  It humbles me to think you would take your time to read a blog from an older woman from a little town in Arkansas!

I appreciate each of you and pray God's blessings on your life!

I love to read your blog...especially if you blog on the same topic as Kelly - it's fun to see it from a different perspective! I started reading Kelly's blog when Harper was born and I saw a 'button' to Pray for Harper - which I did. I have a 12 year old, 11 year old and a 2.5 year old - born 1/13/2009 :) To be honest, sometimes, I am discouraged - it's funny to read Kelly worrying about Harper talking - she needs hearing aids, my son isn't talking nearly as much as she is :( I keep thinking I need to start a blog - but, much like the tables full of scrapbook supplies that I don't use right not, as far as I got was a blog title! Oh well, one day. By the way, I am from Ohio - live outisde of Akron in Norton. Keep praying for me :)

My husband of 51 years and I live in Chesterfield VA and have been members of a small Southern Baptist church here for 38 years.I have tried some of your recipes as well and they were delicious. I found your blog through Kelly's, but I don't remember how I found hers. I think it was through someone's prayer request during Harper's birth. I have a seven year old granddaughter, Olivia, and her six months old sister named Harper. We love that name. I live in Indianapolis, Indiana, and I am a retired Language Arts teacher. I love your blog. F.Moore

I am from Nashville, TN. I started reading Kelly's blog when Harper was born. I saw a link from one of her post to your blog. I think it is neat that you blog as well. I started blogging five years ago when my daughter was born so the grandparents, who live 6 hours away, could "see" her daily. I hope your husband has a safe trip. I read his blog so too.

Hi to Kelly's mom! I just love her and her cute little family so of course I love you too! I am a grandmom (MaeMae) to an 8 yr old girl and a 6 yr old boy! My youngest daughter is expecting a precious baby girl in December! I wrote to Kelly and told her that my daughter was planning to name her baby Harper Brown (both family names) and has never read a blog in her life! It was crazy! She now has decided on Quinn Marie! We love both names! I think there could only ever be 1 real Harper Brown! ha! Anyway, I enjoy reading your blog and you inspire me just like Kelly does! I see where she gets all of her good attributes from! I live in eastern NC (Ayden) about an hr from the coast and 15 min to the home of the ECU Pirates!

Happy Blogiversary to you! I have been reading your blog for a couple of years now, and I love it. I started reading Kelly's blog the day Harper was born and started reading yours shortly thereafter. I love how much you love your family and how much you love your church family. And I love the way I can see the excitement jump off the screen when you talk about someone being saved. Your blog is so encouraging to me. I recently started blogging myself and I remembered how you talked about the "sweet girl" who did your blog design. I thought if you were happy with how easy she was to work with, then I'd give her a try. She currently is working on making my blog all nice and pretty, and you are right. She's a sweetheart.

I live in Cookeville, TN.

Hello! I was born and raised in Tulsa, OK. Moved around some from Oklahoma to Texas and back to Okla. This year we have moved near Memphis, TN to be near grandkids. I love being here! I found you thru Kelley's blog and check on you frequently. I have looked at your hubby's blog, too. Two of our favorite places to visit are Branson and Eureka Springs, not far from where you are.

We are up to 14 grandkids and had our first great grandbaby in April 2011. I'm thankful that you and I are young enough to enjoy our blessed grandkids. Seems when we were little, our grandparents were OLD. Not us! Keep lovin' on those grandbabies. Every moment is precious! Betty in TN
