Favorite Children's Books

I am so very behind on my blogging and have many pictures and stories to tell but I can't seem to have time to sit down and write.  Maybe later.

But when I saw Kelly's SUYL topic this little book popped into my memory.

I can't tell you the hours I sat with my son Chris reading these Richard Scarry books.  They are delightful and my heart just leaps everytime I see this cover.  Isn't that crazy after all these years?

But, guess what?  I STILL have this book and I got it out and read it to Harper when we kept her a couple of weeks ago.

Now I can't wait to read it to Chris' little girl!!

Somethings never get old!

Judy,
I have that particular book (which was mine) and a couple of others by Richard Scarry. ALL of my kids loved them. Still do. I love the pictures. When my oldest two were much smaller we had a couple of Richard Scarry VHS tapes we would watch over and over. I bet your grandchildren would those if you could find them somewhere...maybe they've come out with them in DVD format.

That was my daughter's favorite book when she was little, and was one of the first books I bought for my grandchildren. It continues to be a favorite.

I too have this very same book and read it to my grandchildren. I saved a lot of my children's books and now have the blessing of reading them again to their children. We still love Ask Mr. Bear, Play with Me, The Runaway Bunny and A Child's Good Night book to name a few. I so enjoy your blog.

My kids loved this book too. We also spent hours reading the "Little Critter" books. Happy times!

My sister and I used to read that book, I think she still has the worm in the book.

I read that same book to my sons. Love the Richard Scarry books. Especially the one with the Goldbug to searcg for. Kept them quiet in many a doctor's office.

I, too, read some of these same books to my kids. Isn't it great? I love children's books (books period). I have my "stockpile" all ready for any future grandchildren that might come along. :)

In the meantime, my cousin and his wife (who are more like a brother and a sister to me than cousins) are in their forties with their first child. We are so thrilled to have a young one in the family again . . . (She and I even share the same middle name!) She is such a doll and we all get to dote on her with books and hairboows and stuffed animals and all kinds of fun things!!

Was so glad to see you post again! I could just imagine how busy you must be. I share the feeling. Just returned from a trip to Samford this weekend with my oldest son. So hard for me to believe that my "babies" are college age. It was one thing for the girls to go to college, but my little boys!?!?!?! Time sure goes by fast, doesn't it?

Take care Judy!
