Grandma Judy

Life has it's way of giving and taking. I am coming up on a milestone birthday so I guess I'm old enough to start looking back on my life.

For some reason, I have had a blessed life. Wonderful childhood with parents who absolutely did their best to provide everything we needed and most of the time, wanted! We were never in want even though my Dad was a sole provider and we just lived month to month like everyone else in our sphere.

However, the greatest provision was a spiritual background that has long been the rock in my life. We were not sent to church, we were taken. But church, in itself, is not what made the difference. It was having a personal relationship to Jesus and how He made a difference in everything we did.
How I thank my parents for that heritage!

Now, at the later years of my life, the Lord is still blessing me. I am going to be a Grandmother in January!!! I'm sure most of you who read my post come over from my daughter's blog because she is the one who really has the talent for an interesting post. But if you haven't read her announcement, please go to www.kellyskornerblog.com and read for yourself how great God is and how He has worked a great work in our lives!

Words fail to tell you how we feel about the prospect of a new baby, but I know if you have children , you understand! I sent Kelly a little package a week or so ago(I just couldn't help myself...I needed to buy baby stuff) and in that package I included a letter written to hubby and me over 34 years ago when my two little old aunts heard the news of Kelly's approaching birth.
They said they were thrilled and how it would give two old ladies something to look forward to!
I love that letter so much that I wanted Kelly to see how our family looked so forward to her coming and now we look forward to the new grandbaby! Isn't it wonderful to come full circle?

Isn't God good? You can't outgive God!

Hey, now I will be living with an old grandpa!!

What precious news!! I am so excited for all of you. I was able to be with Kelly last weekend at my brother's wedding. She was kind enough to host the lingerie shower for us.:)It was fun to see her. She hasn't changed a bit from the ole OBU days, except for maybe her hair. :) I'm sure she was completely worn out after all of it was over. You guys have a wonderful family, and I couldn't be more excited for all of you! You will be an incredible grandmother! What fun! Blessed!

Judy, you know how happy I am for you and Steve. (Now he'll really be blubbering all the time!!) You and Steve have been the best parents, now you get to try your hand at grandparenting. This will be one spoiled (um, loved) grandbaby. Have you got a nursery ready at your B&B yet?? We love you both, and are thanking God for His faithfulness today!

"Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands." (Deut. 7:9)

Oh my goodness! I just read Kelly's blog. Congratulations Grandma!!! I am sooooo excited for you all. There is something special about grands. You just wait and see. I will never forget Cortney having our little Reid. I was in the delivery room and I'm not sure what happened but the very minute he was born it felt like my heart split in half and the joy and love I felt is just unexplainable. Then when she had Cade the same thing. Still to this day when I think about those babies I can be having a down day, have something on my mind that I can't shake and all I have to do is think about those babies and everything else is non-existent.

I cried when I read Kelly's post, and I am crying now for you. I am going to blame it on the hormones!!!

I am so overjoyed for all of you! I know you will be the same kind of grandparents that my parents are to the Princess...the kind that fight for more time with her and bend over backwards for her whenever she is around.

Judy, Judy, Judy, I just found out! I told Kelly I was crying and I've never even officially met her! Oh, this is going to be so much fun, but let me warn you, you'd better start saving your pennies, cause I can't stop buying for my 3 little ones. I told Kelly I was going to send her an Auburn onesie....(joke).

What a ride this is going to be!

Steve and Judy,
I am so glad Jamie shared your
wonderful news with me. The times
I was around you two and Kelly, I
knew you were a special family.
What a lucky baby to have parents
and grandparents like you!
My four grandchildren are the true
joy in my life. No one can tell you
you have to hold that new baby in
your arms to know the feeling. There is nothing to compare . .I know God will continue to bless
you!
