Buckets of Hope

Today was just a beautiful day.....a sweet reminder of what's to come!  Everyone must have felt that
spring is truly "just around the corner"!  We are so thankful!

Hubs and I spent part of our day picking up limbs still left over from last year's ice storm.  Will we ever
see the end of this enormous destruction to our property?   But so thankful that it didn't happen again
this past January!

Tonight we have worked on getting our "Buckets of Hope" together.   The Southern Baptist Disaster
Relief have a plan for a hands-on, life changing opportunity for each of us to be able to help the
people of Haiti by sending buckets of basic foods to feed a family in Haiti for a week.  The cost is
approximately $30.  Could you feed your family for a week for that much?

All the food is put in a heavy 5 gallon plastic bucket with a handle which can be used by
the family to store items or for carrying water.

We are to pray for the families that our buckets go to for their good health and to realize
that they are loved by God and by us.

We are reminded in Matthew 25:40 .  "And the King shall answer and say unto them,
Verily I say unto you, In as much as you have done it unto one of the least of these
my brethren, you have done it unto me"

May God bless all these many buckets as they go to Haiti and
may God be Glorified!

I have not heard of this project, but what a great idea and such needed items. I love the blue buckets too! I love the fact that you are praying for each family who will receive a bucket. Love the new look on your blog. Love & blessings from NC!

Hey Judy! This is a wonderful project. Our SS class is doing one together as well as other classes in the church. We have a personal friend from our church involved with Mission Aviary Fellowship. He is a pilot that transports people that are hurt or needing medical assistance or distributes the supplies that get sent over them. They are the Broyles family. If you think of them lift them up in prayer. He is in Haiti right now.

The idea of Buckets of Hope is wonderful! I checked the site and was very interested in getting involved, however I am not Baptist. I was suprised it was written that it is for Baptists.

I can't imagine the organizers of this worthwhile project would mean to be limiting but it does cause me to feel I am not welcome.

Again, I do think it is a wonderful idea and with certainly mention this to any Baptist friends.

Just when Spring was springing...the snow crept back into the forecast. But I know warm weather will be here soon.
My parents also got struck by a terrible ice storm. It was so much work to clean up as you know first hand, too!
It certainly makes you think of individuals who do not have the means to get their lives and surroundings back together after such massive destruction. What a great project, what a giving heart.

Peace.
